A brief flurry of snow showers the end of this week look set to ease slightly, with clear and mixed conditions until the middle of next week. From Monday night we are expecting light to heavy snow as the week progresses. The higher humidity next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will certainly help to ensure some very good snow falls, with some resorts exceeding 20cms in a day.
Up to 23cms are forecast next Tuesday, with not much less the next day. Expect mid-station temperatures of between -2 and -7˚C (exc. any wind-chill).
Portes du Soleil
Clear and mixed skies will give way to snow clouds by the beginning of next week. Heavy snow is expected in Avoriaz and other resorts by Wednesday, and a total 37cms of new snow would greet skiers next Thursday morning!
As the wind changes to a more South Easterly and Easterly, snow is forecast for the end of this week and early next mid-week. Sunday and Monday should provide some gorgeous clear skiing conditions following snow on Friday and Saturday. However, Tuesday and Wednesday nights will help produce some 35cms of fresh snow.
South Westerly and South Easterly winds look set to usher in snow falls of over 35cms from Monday evening. The Freezing Altitude is expected to drop again from Monday, which should help maintain the new snow in excellent condition.
St Anton, and other Austrian resorts are looking to get their new snow later than their French counterparts. Light to Moderate snow falls should hit the Arlberg region next Tuesday and Wednesday.
