The biggest snowfall of the season has hit the alps!
Tignes and Val d’Isere have had the biggest snowfall of the year in the last week. Over the past 24 hours, there has been over 100cm fall across both resorts. There has already been one reported avalanche due to the huge mass of snow that is falling but luckily everyone who was caught in the avalanche are safe. If you are skiing in the alps over the next few days make sure you are skiing safely!
If you are skiing in the alps over the next few days make sure you are skiing safely! If you are going off-piste please remember to take a transceiver and avalanche pack with you. If you are not sure what you are doing when you ski off-piste then play it safe and stick to the groomed pistes.
Over the next week, Tignes and Val d’Isere will be expecting yet more snow! From Sunday the 12th of March to Wednesday the 15th of March there is around 50cm of snow expected across both resorts. There are a few days of sunshine this week where you will not want to leave your camera at home for!
Meribel is looking like it will be getting some snow this week as well. If you are heading out there then you will also be treated to a few days of sunshine and blue skies and then some snowfall at the end of the week.
If you are looking for deep snow and powder days this week then look no further than St Anton. They are expecting snow every day this week! Over the next 4 days they are going to be expecting 84cm with even more snow hitting the resort later in the week!
