Top 3 Ski Weekend resorts
It is often said that you can pack almost as much into a well planned weekend as you can in a week! If you can’t afford to take a week then try a weekend! Alpine Elements offer weekend ski trips from just £309 to include flights, hotel accom, transfers and catering.
No – your eyes are not deceiving you! This would be for a “midweek break” that departs London on Sunday morning (7am) to arrive in resort for a half day liftpass, before returning late Wednesday evening to get in a full last day on the mountain. 3 ½ days riding where you pack almost as much into your short stay as you would a week away!
Top 3 Weekend Resorts
The largest mountain town in Europe and home to the highest mountain too – Mont Blanc. This place is steeped in mountain history, has a vibrant nightlife and offers visitors a truly unique experience and a lot to pack into a weekend
The resort is only 1 hour from Geneva airport which makes it one of the closest and only 4 hours from London if you have a private or prebooked transfer.
The Skiing and riding is simply superb, with very high snow-sure slopes and something for all abilities. The resort is made up of 3 main ski areas, which does make it a bit of a fag for travelling around at the start of the day, (by shuttle bus), but it doesn’t take long and for a 3 day weekend – you get a new ski area to try each day!
Morzine & Les Gets
Situated right in the middle of Europe’s largest ski area, this cute chalet-style resort is abundant in wooden buildings, good food and happy locals who are keen to welcome. There is no way that you will be able to cover the whole Portes du Soleil ski area in a weekend (or even a week) but you can give it a damn good go!
Again – at only an hour or so from Geneva, Morzine is one of the most convenient ski areas to visit from the UK . I often find myself returning year on year, because I love the vibe – and I have the choice of visiting any of the other resorts we offer in the Alps! See Morzine Ski Holidays for more
Not most people’s first choice for a weekend break, due mainly to its distance from Geneva. However with the new improved, shorter, straighter motorway that links Annecy to Geneva – the transfer has been cut to a shade over 2 hours by car.
And the extra distance is worth it! What you get is 3 Valleys skiing, Meribel charm, buzzing nightlife and snow sure slopes! A huge ski area – on a par with Morzine and Les Gets – and lots of variety for all levels.
