Ski & Snowboard Slopestyle part of the FIS Championships

Ski & Snowboard Slopestyle part of the FIS Championships

Following the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Executive Board failed to make a decision about the new Olympic snow sports, the International Ski Federation (FIS) has announced that the 2011 FIS Freestyle Snowboard World Championships will include ski and Snowboard Slopestyle events.

The FIS Freestyle Skiing World Championships are to be held at Utah’s Deer Park facility from 30th January to 5th February next year. Because Der Park has no halfpipe or snow park the Ski Halfpipe will be held at Park City. Discussions are now ongoing as to where the ski freestyle will take place.

La Molina (Spain) host the FIS Snowboard World Championships from January the 15th to 22nd. Events will include: Parallel GS, Slalom, Big Air, Boardercross, Halfpipe and Slopestyle (assuming that FIS and La Molina do actually ratify it).
