Pressure is building on the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to include ski halfpipe in the list of disciplines at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, Russia, according to ‘Around the Rings’ website. The IOC Executive Board meet in October to decide which new events to add.
Women’s ski jumping, which appeared to only just fail in a bid to be an Olympic event in Vancouver, is also looking a likely inclusion. The International Ski Federation (ISF) have already endorsed all of these disciplines, and have judging and competition structures in place.
