It’s BOILING here at the moment (25 degrees in resort) and all of our staff are looking a little red faced – it definitely feels like spring and the town looks so pretty with flowers sprouting up everywhere, lush! It’s getting us all in the mood for summer as we welcome our final week of guests this Sunday, I can’t believe the season is nearly over. Here’s some of my highlights:
Christmas week: loads of powder, daniel’s crimbo dinner and Hollie’s legendary Christmas pub quiz!
Trips to Cormayeur. Still my favourite skiing I’ve done, high points include Hollie O’Flynn losing her ski as we got on the chairlift, enjoying one too many Lemoncellos with guests at the Christiania restaurant and skiing, obviously.
New Years’ eve in the square, despite the French’s rather relaxed attitude to firework health and safety it was bloody bangin.
Le Toff pole dancing. Ahem, enough said.
Our picnic at Flegere and Hollie’s unashamed fascination at seeing a duck, “oh my god I just love nature!”.
My birthday – a very civilised day out at the ice caves with €1 fizzy wine, followed by a not so civilised night out with red wine, white wine, beer, tequila and an unidentified shot from Monkey bar…
Finally learning to speak a decent level of French – tres bon, er…yea.
Vin rouge at the bdn bar. Some things never change…
Now here’s the high points from some of the bdn staff…
“macking off* with 2 40 year olds in le toff, tail tapping the butter box and nailing my first 360 – no biggie. Prep with Daniel in the kitchen”
- Olly
*macking off = kissing in the middle of le toff dance floor. And yea, it’s true – cringe!
“Getting with that scandy!! And learning to ski off piste with Holly T”
- Hollie.
“That day at le tour”
- Daniel , referring to a gnarly off piste powder day in le tour, apparently the best day’s boarding he’s ever had!
“Fresh lines”
- Jonny – he loves it.
So we welcome in our final week of guests on Sunday and are all getting ready to head off in different directions, all with fond memories of an awesome season in Cham.
