Scottish Ski Centres Best Season

cairngormThe UK’s Press Association is reporting that the current snowy conditions engulfing much of the UK, are giving Scottish resorts the best start to a winter season in decades. Visitor numbers are up, despite the sometimes difficult driving conditions that the heavy snowfalls produced. Whilst not offering the extent, consistent snow conditions or variety of the French Alpes, Scotland’s main snowsports centres have much to offer.

The consistently low temperatures have meant that the excellent early falls of snow have not disappeared. The Nevis Range (Aonach Mor/Fort William), and Aviemore’s Cairngorm Centre, are reporting their best snow conditions, and biggest visitor numbers since the mid 1990s. The Cairngorm’s modern funicular, and Nevis’ gondola are likely to see some serious use in this New Year period.

GlensheeGlenshee has not only frozen it’s lift pass price for 20009/10, but also the cost of ski lessons.

According to The Independent, this season has also seen the first all-mountain Scottish pass. For £115 you can ski and board across the entirety of five Scottish wintersports areas. Now that IS good value!
