Save Hillend latest + Facebook controversy.

Hillend Ski Slope

Following our earlier report about the problems surrounding Edinburgh’s Hillend Ski Slope, there have been further developments. The owners of the slope, Midlothian Council, have been advised that they may be eligible for a SportScotland investment of some £600,000. According to news.scotsman.com however, the quango’s package will still not fill the funding gap. Midlothian Council leader, Derek Milligan believes that an estimated “£25million over the next four years” needs to be found.

On a “That’s Weird” note: There is a ‘Close Hillend’ Facebook page where an Administrator is Connor Purves, whilst the ‘Save Hillend’ Facebook page has Gordon Purves as it’s Admin. Sibling rivlary, inter family feud, or just some co-incidence?
