Saint Jean D’Aulps in the Portes du Soleil is a very small but charming little resort situated just an hour from Geneva airport, close to the popular resort of Morzine. It has access to the largest ski area in the world and over 650 kms of pistes, not to mention the off piste on top of that!
Located under the backdrop of “le Roc d’Enfer” this is a pretty little resort which makes for a great day trip if visiting from another Portes du Soleil ski resort. Visiting skiers will have stunning views of Lake Geneva, the Dents du Midi and of course Mont Blanc. To stay there for a week may get a little boring, however the other Portes du Soleil ski areas (included on the same liftpass) are only a 20 minute drive away.
The Skiing and Boarding
With a ski area that is only really suited to beginners and intermediates it is quiet and relaxing if you want to learn to ski or ski with your family. There is no mad apres ski or nightlife, more a tranquil resort atmosphere where likeminded skiers and boarders can enjoy a str ess free resort where everyone is polite to each other!
We recommend taking a car so that you can experience the other excellent ski areas that make up the Portes du Soleil such as Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz
