Jet2 is adding an extra ski flight to their existing Leeds Bradford Airport to Geneva service for the 2010/11 ski and snowboard season. The extra Saturday flights will start on January the 8th, with Sunday’s new service beginning on February the 20th. These run through until April the 16th. As skyscanner reported Jet2’s boss, his airline will offer “100% more weekend flights added to Geneva, the gateway to some of the best resorts in the Swiss and French Alps”. This announcement comes hot on the heels of Jet2s decision to add Glasgow as a new departure airport for the airline.

Flights from non-London airports can make self-travel holidays a really good deal if you live any distance away from the South East. By the time fuel and car park fees have been added in, any saving from cheap London area flights can easily be wiped out. With some of Jet2’s flights starting at 99 pence (Yes!) even the low price argument is doubtful. There are a lot fewer flights from regional airports, but the savings can be considerable.
