Hello Chamonix!

Hello Chamonix!

This week it was goodbye Les Gets, hello Chamonix as we arrived at our home for the next five months! It’s safe to say that all the team are pretty blown away by Cham – stunning mountain landscapes surrounding you, a bustling, vibrant French town with heaps of character, and unrivalled skiing – what’s not to love?!

The guys here have been working incredibly hard this week to get the resort up and running, and the Boule de Neige hotel and chalet now look fantastic – very charming and quirky (a bit like the manager!). Our first lot of guests arrived yesterday and were itching to get out on the slopes – they got back to the hotel very happy and definitely ready for our chef’s afternoon tea treats.

I’ve managed to get out on the hill today as well, and went up the Grand Monets lift. Despite the rumour being that it was pretty icy at the moment, I was pleasantly surprised; plenty of powder and glorious sunshine all day! We’ve been forecast a flurry of snow for Thursday too, so next week’s Christmas guests should have a good one.

Everyone agrees that the Chamonix nightlife is unrivalled, and it’s no wonder they call it ‘the capital of the alps’. Tom, our lovely maintenance man, came over from Les Gets the other night and impressed us all with his Irish Jig in Monkey Bar. Very funny. The biggest fail of the week definitely goes to Hollie Bannister, who stacked it today as she was running for a bus, resulting in a very muddy t-shirt and a pretty red face!

We’re all looking forward to Christmas week (my crimbo parcel arrived today, yayyy!) and making the hotel lovely and festive. I know our rep Hollie is looking forward to making her quiz in the BDN bar all Christmassy with a festive themed tin foil round! Vin Chaud anyone?
