The FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup season 2010/2011 gets itself under way this weekend as up to one hundred competitors descend on Ruka, Kuusamo. Today (Thursday) is the start of practice, with teams from Canada, Switzerland, Australia, Italiay, Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan and Finland competing. The comp starts in earnest on 11th of December. This is the second FIS event already this season to take place at the Finish venue in the form of a mogul competition.
Currently Finnish aircraft cabin crew (stewards and airhostesses) are on strike, which may make travelling to the next World Cup event, in Meribel, rather tricky, especially as there is only one travel day in-between!
