I turned 23 this week (Christ!) and have to say a huge thankyou to all the team here for making it a cracking birthday! The girls surprised me with a trip on the Montenvers train to see the glacier – it was absolutely amazing! You can walk right down to the Glacier and wander through some really cool (get it?) ice caves. We had a lush birthday picnic, then – as if the day couldn’t get any better – it started snowing! We’re forecast another 20cm this week so the snow conditions should get better and better – both guests and staff alike are definitely looking forward to some fresh powder up on the hill…

Needless to say, we had a right good night celebrating my bday in South Bar – although maybe that last Jaegerbomb wasn’t such a good idea…

We had some lovely guests this week as usual, and a big congratulations has to go out to Paul and Sophie, who got engaged this week! He proposed on Valentine’s day and it’s safe to say there was a lot of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the female members of the Bdn team at the sight of Sophie’s ring!

The week then went from romance to bromance as a stag party arrived for a weekend break – there were definitely some colourful characters and they made good use of the Bdn bar!

We also welcomed a new member of staff to our team this week, Josh – he actually came out as a guest a couple of weeks back and loved Chamonix so much that he applied to work at the hotel! He’s been marvellous so far and definitely fits in with our team’s work hard, play hard mentality.

Things we’re all looking forward to at the moment….

The next ‘winter sessions’ at Podium. Just as good as a bangin’ clubnight in England – where else in the Alps can boast that?
