One of the bidders for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games has just announced that it has signed deals with six new commercial partners. The €3million deals include luxury goods conglomerate Louis Vuiton Moët Hennesey (LVMH), and the French flag carrier Air France.

In a whirlwind three days, Lindsey Vonn has taken an unbeatable lead in the FIS World Cup series. A 26 year old rank outsider, Italian Christof Innherhofer has taken the World Skiing Championship Super Giant Slalom crown. In fact it was a day for the ‘lesser’ Super G racers on a very icy ‘Kandahar’ course, with the more highly ranked skiiers starting later, as usual, but failing to make a dent on the early leaders times.
Lurching slightly between a 4.45pm and 5.15pm, the alpine fest that is Ski Sunday rag-dolls it’s way back to our screens. The first show (Jan 9th) majors on FIS World Cup skiing from the Swiss resort of Adelboden. There should also be a bit on the ridiculously named ‘Oakley and Shaun White Present Air & Style Beijing 2010’ from back at the beginning of December last year. *Spoiler* If you need the excitement of not knowing who won skip the last paragraph!
It looks as if the recent FIS competition in Munich’s Olympic Park went pretty well. The FIS Audi Ski World Cup held it’s first ‘City Event’ in front of a 25,000 crowd, who saw the top 16 male and female racers going head-to-head on a 18 gate Parallel Slalom course.
It looks as if the redevelopment of the Battersea Power Station site, which we reported last month on Alpine Elements Community (check it to see different pictures), has now received the necessary approval of the Lord Mayor of London.
