Vassiliki wind & conditions:
The local Vassiliki wind and water conditions are what makes it a world renowned windsurfing and sailing destination; in fact some of the best in Europe. The predictability of the conditions also make it ideal for all levels of sailor. We provide instruction for beginner, Intermediate and advanced Windsurf and Dinghy sailors.
The Thermal wind (known as ‘Eric’) is amazingly predictable, starting in the morning gently on-shore, rising to force 1 or 2 by 10am, with flat waters. This is perfect for family groups and beginners learning to windsurf, as well as more experienced sailors experimenting with new moves.
The wind strengthens gradually after lunch and by early afternoon is reaching force 4 to 7. There is a little chop but no big waves, and the wind moves to become more cross-shore. This is a good time to for the experienced sailors to try out their ‘flying’ techniques, and for those further down the ladder to put their new skills to the test. Beginners can happily carry on learning, although down-sizing their rigs in the afternoons is often the preferred approach.
