Intermediate Courses (Non-planers):
Jamie says: "This is for anyone who is happy sailing up and downwind, tacking and gybing in light winds. You do not need to have completed an RYA Start Windsurfing Course, but you need to be at an equivalent standard. We will be looking at moving your windsurfing to the next level by introducing the harness, learning to sail without a daggerboard, moving onto smaller boards, improving your tacking, developing those gybes, and having a go at beach starts. Not to mention the ultimate goal of starting to get planing! The light winds that Vassiliki offers in the morning are the perfect conditions to work on transitions and as the winds build into the afternoon the focus will move onto harness work, staying upwind and getting planing."
Jamie says: "The Advanced Masterclass is aimed at anyone who is confident blasting in the harness and foot straps, can water start and is comfortable staying upwind. Some experience of Carve Gybing is preferable but not necessary. We will dissect the infamous Carve Gybe, to help you achieve your personal goals, be that simply building the confidence to try them more often or perhaps mastering the planning exit." In addition to general sailing coaching and top tips on planning technique Jamie's wealth of knowledge ensures you can be taught anything from entry level freestyle ‘ body dragging and popping’ to ‘Vulcans’ ‘forward loops’ and ‘beyond’. The possibilities are endless!
The specifics of the week will be based around what YOU want to learn - topics and skills including; faster tacks, carve and duck gybes, 360s, jumping, and top-level freestyle. The lighter morning winds will give us the chance to review video from the previous day and run through the skills to be worked on in the afternoon as the famous wind 'Eric' delivers some fantastic cross-shore conditions."
