We offer high quality mountain bikes from Specialized and Kona which are free for guests to use. These bikes are perfect for our terrain, they all have front suspension and beefy tyres with uprated hydraulic disc brakes for the ultimate in stopping power! Ideal for cruising around local villages, pottering along coastal paths or harder-hitting terrain where only the best equipment is required.
BIKE GUIDING
To sample the best riding for all levels join one of our guided rides. Our enthusiastic bike guide will offer rides for all abilities and ensure that everyone enjoys exploring the beautiful island of Lefkas. From short gentle tarmac cruises around the olive groves to long hard technical slogs up the mountains, there really is something for everyone.
We recommend having some loose change in your pocket because there's always a local taverna to stop for a rest in, whilst enjoying a frappe and soaking up the scenery. Guiding is available all week and we are always flexible to requests. We will run early morning and early evening rides to avoid the heat of the day.
ABOUT THE BIKING
Lefkada is one of the more lush Greek islands, with olive groves and mountains which are perfectly suited to mountain biking for all levels.
The immediate terrain around Vassiliki is simply superb for mountain biking, offering tracks and trails for all levels, road riding, pine forest and mountainous descents.
Away from the coastal fringes, the olive groves and shrub land of Lefkas make this particular Greek island one of the most colourful, and rewarding for mountain bikers. It’s high, rocky interior makes for some fantastic mountain biking for the more advanced bikers, but also provides some exciting terrain for the less experienced to learn new skills.
The island is a favourite of French and Italian cycling teams in training for the professional and amateur season.
There is a large network of tracks that wind their way out of Vassiliki, many are old goat herders routes. These criss-cross their way over the island, giving good access to almost every part of the island from beautiful beaches and coves to historic desserted villages. We strongly recommend that everyone takes the time to explore Vassiliki on a bike!
