The island of Lekfada offers a fantastic walking itinerary for our guests. Our beautiful island offers some of the most spectacular scenery with secluded beaches and traditional Greek culture.

A beautiful Island for Walking

Lefkada and Vassiliki itself is a particularly beautiful area to explore, and unlike many of its Greek counterparts, the vegetation is especially lush and green. The local history, colourful Greek villages and wonderful Taverna culture provide an extra charm for all levels of fitness.

The Olive Groves behind Vassiliki, fringed by various foothills are an excellent area to start out walking on Lefkas. Inland, the island is littered with streams, gorges and waterfalls as well as pine forest and many wonderful villages offering a warm welcome with that famous Greek hospitality.

Of course the island specialises in staggeringly beautiful coastal walks, which link the many beautiful bays and inlets. Great for walkers wishing to discover a secluded, emerald coloured, clear water bay for swimming or lunch.

Highlights for Walkers

The waterfalls, above the village of Rachi, in the Dimosari Gorge are particularly beautiful. Another good walking area is on the island West coast, around the beautiful beaches of Milos and Kathisma. Just to the North of these is the small fishing port of Agios Nikitas.

Island hopping

We can help arrange a ferry trip to visit other islands such as Ithaca, Kefalonia or the beautiful island of Meganissi, which is easy to do from Lefkada. There are some wonderful walks all around Lefkas and the surrounding islands, and more than enough to pack into an exciting and diverse itinerary for all abilities.

For a small local charge, a variety of guided walks can be organised during your stay. As well as showing you some stunning scenery our english speaking guide will share a wealth of information about the island history, the flora & fauna, the local wildlife and the cultural trends of the area. Alternatively, if you would like to explore alone then our knowledgable guide can provide a variety of route maps.
