DINGHY SAILING HOLIDAYS
A dinghy sailing holiday in Greece is the perfect place to enjoy this exciting sport, with warm water, reliable winds and lots of sunshine. We also offer professional tuition from our team of RYA qualified instructors. Vassiliki offers ideal conditions for novice and expert sailors, wind range is F2 to F7.

AVAILABILITY OF BOATS
We have a good selection of the latest sailing dinghies from Topper, RS and Laser - which are offered free for guests to use all week, and more than enough to allow constant use by guests. There will always be a boat for you to use but to take a boat out on your own, we will ask that you have at least some sailing experience! Lessons will always be available for those that don’t.
COURSES & TUITION
Level 1, 2 and 3 RYA sailing courses are included free for guests. We offer a log book and certificate at the end of your week. Each course runs approx 2.5 hrs, five days a week. Outside of lessons you can free sail. Groups are generally 6-8 persons per instructor. The wind conditions and kit advances allow manageable sailing all day long, for all abilities.
Private tuition is also offered, subject to staff availabilty. Private tuition is booked and paid for in resort.

VASSILIKI FOR SAILING
The flat water and predictable wind makes Vassiliki an ideal venue in which to learn dinghy sailing. As the thermal wind builds after lunch, the intermediate and advanced sailors will be able to test themselves in some of the best winds in Greece!
The same conditions that have made Vassiliki a legendary destination amongst windsurfers are also why Vassiliki is so perfect for dinghy sailing. The incredible predictability of the local thermal wind (called ‘Eric’) means that beginners and advanced sailors can all be accommodated in this beautiful 1.3 km wide bay.
BEGINNER, INTER & ADVANCED
Beginners can get out sailing solo immediately, the learning curve is made especially easy in Vassiliki with light morning winds and our expert tuition. Less confident sailors may like to pair up or go out with an instructor for their first experience. However, by the end of the week everyone will be happy sailing solo and enjoying the freedom of this exciting sport.
Intermediate and advanced sailors can also take advantage of the light on-shore winds in the mornings, to brush up on old skills and practice new techniques ready for the afternoon.
After lunch the winds will build offering exhilirating and challenging conditions for intermediate and advanced sailors. Our broad range of boats will suit all abilities, and we can even get the children afloat too!
THE BEST SAILING CONDITIONS!
The bay itself is gently shelving, with a mountain range and hills on all sides. This topography helps funnel the wind, transforming a nice morning on-shore breeze of Force 1 or 2 to an afternnoon cross-shore Force 4 to 7.
The end of June sees Vassiliki Watersports Festival which includes Laser, Open Dinghy and Catamaran classes. This event attracts a very high standard of sailor, including World Champions and Olympians.
THE KIT
We have a small selection of brand new 2011 top of the range dinghies which are offered for free use to our guests. Tuition is provided but is not compulsory, the equipment is there for you to use as and when you wish to. Our support boat will be on hand to help with capsizes and no wind situations. We can all get caught out when the wind suddenly drops in the evening! The beach doesn't close until the last person chooses to come ashore and the wind can blow as late as 8pm or 9pm! So there's plenty of time to enjoy the conditions and make the most of your holiday.
YACHT CHARTER
No experience needed. Make the most of the incredible Ionian sailing conditions by chartering a yacht and experience glistening waters and crystal clear anchorages. The Ionian Sea is littered with beautiful islands and hidden bays. Enjoying a day on a yacht in this stunning area is always an unforgettable experience. You may even be lucky enough to spot some dolphins playing in your bow wave. Hiring a yacht for the day is a truly great way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion.
We can arrange local yacht hire in resort. Please highlight your interest in this at the time of booking. Proof of an RYA Day Skipper Qualification is required, or alternatlively we can provide a skipper for you.
AVAILABILITY OF BOATS
The above description is an accurate reflection of the types of boat to be used at our centre, they will suit all ages and types of sailor. Dinghies are free for guests to use on a first come first serve basis, but in our experience there is always one ready to go! We have 1 boat to every 3-4 guests, and when you consider many windsurf there is most always a boat spare!
