Hotel Sole Review

We really had a great stay at the Sole. It is very friendly and the evening meals are plentiful and have enough variety, esp the salad buffet!

Our room looked over the lake and it was absolutely stunning - In fact the balcony and view was so enticing that i caught up on perhaps more reading than i ever have done on holiday! The hotel is right in the centre of Riva so you have immediate access to the pretty centre, bars, shops,cafes and boat trips. The hotel does have a sauna and mini gym (with the emphasis on "mini"). Nevertheless the sauna is AMAZING and i would thoroughly recommend it.

The hotel does hire out bikes and these are great for cycling along the promenade to Torbole, but i wouldnt take to the hills in them! Advice is - cycle along teh walk way to Torbole - have a lazy lunch, take in a swim, maybe a beer and stagger back!! Only thing is that my bike developed some sort of gear problems which meant it was a noisy affair!

We recently stayed in this hotel with our parents, on their recommendation as they previously stayed in the Hotel Sole 3 years ago. This hotel lives up to everything we were told it would be. The location cannot really be surpassed as it is right on the lake side and within a 2-5 minute easy stroll to the jetty to board any one of the frequently running ferries that will take you to almost any place on the whole of Lake Garda. You can even travel by ferry from Riva del Garda to the most southern lake town of Desenzano (although it takes about 4 hours each way - it is still do-able).
When we first arrived at the hotel it was about 7.45pm so we were immediately shown into the restaurant and informed that the table we were shown to was ours for the whole of our stay. This was a great way of immediately making us feel at home in the hotel.

The Hotel is in a wonderful location, right at the lakeside in Piazza 3 Novembre. It has a lovely restaurant looking out over the lake and is a 2 minute walk to the ferry service that takes you to the various towns around the lake. In the evenings in the Piazza there was a concert on Sunday night and various street entertainers during the week e.g. jugglers, artists, musicians etc. It was very calm and peaceful around the Piazza despite all the people that pass through it everyday. There was an AMAZING Ristorante Gelateria beside the Europa Hotel, the ice creams were huge+ delicious :)

ideally situated,we were hoping for a view of lake but instead had a balcony overlooking Piazza Novembre which was great as we had a great view of evening entertainers which included a Bee Gees tribute band on one evening.There is a Co-op not far from hotel which was ideal to get some wine etc [kept cool in fridge in room] Local buses + ferries provide an excellant means to explore the surrounding areas.This was our first visit to Lake Garda and we would certainly return again in the future - especially to hotel Sole

We had a balcony room facing the lake on the 2nd floor, which was comfortable rather than luxurious, and had a wonderful view out across the lake. The weather was perfect, so we made use of the sun bathing terrace on the 4th floor, plus ate lunch at the restaurant on the quayside.

We stay in Riva twice a year on business. We have stayed at several different hotels in Riva over the years and the Hotel Sole is certainly one of the better ones.

The hotel is very well situated and we had a room onthe front overlooking the lake and the harbour. Outside within a short walk were all the amenities which Riva has to offer. The rooms were kept clean and tidy every day and the waiters/waitresses and bar staff worked hard to ensure that we were satisfied.
