The Best Mountain Bike Facilities

The Alps are nirvana for Mountain bikers of all levels and biking is what we do best! Whatever your level, we love introducing our guests to riding the Alps. So whether your goal is to have fun two-wheeled adventures with your family, or go and hit the downhill trails - we’ve got you covered!

Come and discover the real French Alps with its array of tracks and trails at altitude or along the valley floor. Why not try your hand at Downhill biking? Our Active team will help you get geared up with a Pro level bike. Whatever your level, whatever your taste, we’ve got it covered!

Electric Bikes

E-bikes make everything faster and more enjoyable. We guarantee that you’ll be hooked the moment you make your first pedal stroke!

We have a fleet of E-bikes available for rent and if you’re staying at the Hotel Christiania then you’ll get a free taster session on our excellent hard tail E-bikes included with your holiday.

Our Active Team and Mechanics

Our Active team plays an important role in helping you make the most out of your week in the Alps. They will help you find the best rides for your level, hook you up with mountain guides or social rides with other guests and will help you get geared up with an E-Bike or a full suspension Pro bike if you want to go Downhilling.

Our fleet of (free to use) bikes

One thing you’ll need is a good quality, well-sorted bike to ride when holidaying in the Alps and this is the reason we put a lot of care and attention into our bike fleet. Our bike fleet are from leading brand Specialized and they’ve been specc’d with extra wide tyres and disc brakes, so they’re perfect for valley floor trail riding, resort-level rides and some lift assisted Green trails of the ‘not-so-steep’ variety.

Workshops & mechanics

At all of our main hotels (which cover our chalets too) we have our own in-house mechanics to look after our fleet of bikes and keep things rolling. If you’re traveling to the Alps with your own bike, then rest assured we have a full repair facility to sort out most ailments, or at least ‘route one’ access to local suppliers who can help out.

Our main workshops are equipped to solve most problems from disc brake alignments to changing bottom brackets, trashed wheels and minor frame alignments. We carry spare cassettes, pads, tyres and other essentials (subject to stock levels). Our mechanics’ advice is free, but their help on specific jobs will require an hourly rate.

Full suspension ‘Pro bikes’

If biking is big on your agenda and you want to use the high altitude, lift assisted trails - then we’d recommend you to rent a high quality full suspension bike to get the most out of the area.

Full suspension ‘Pro Bikes’ are suited to all levels of rider (not just the experts) and will help you make the most out of the terrain, by making it safer and easier. Pro Bikes have superior stopping power, longer travel suspension with better quality components designed for the high altitude trails. Don’t leave it too late to book a Pro bike, availability can be limited. If you are staying in hotel Christiania you get free carriage of your own bike on our complimentary airport transfers.

Family Mountain biking

Biking in the Alps is not just for the grown ups! Each of our resorts offers a plethora or fantastic family rides using the tracks and trails along the valley floor, through woodland and even some using the lifts. You will also find pump tracks and obstacle courses for learners and children in the resort. These great courses offer a safe environment for children and beginners to get to know their bikes and understand basic skills.

Dads and mums will love the facilities on offer, which are of a very high level and serve beginners as much as the experts. The warm weather and lift system also helps to encourage young riders to learn quickly and develop their skills. And everyone loves the experience of using the chair lifts with a bike!

The best bit however is that the bike hire is inclusive with our holidays so you don't have to think about bringing, or maintaining your own bike… our in-house mechanics will keep things rolling nicely.

Downhill MTB

Downhill mountain biking is the bike discipline that we all aspire to. Let your adrenaline surge as you swoop down banks and berms and humps following the flow of the Singletrack course down the mountain

You can try one of the many man-made Downhill courses in the area and if you are new to DH riding then let us hook you up with a guide and get you started!

Pump Tracks and bike parks

All our resorts have free access to bike parks, pump tracks and obstacle courses. We love the pump tracks and obstacle courses at resort level, because bikers (young and old) don’t need a lift pass and can practice in a safe environment by pumping around banked corners, humps and flowing obstacles. Great for learning some new skills and good fun for kids.
